Better listen people
I’ve got a story to tell
There are 3 michievious people i don’t trust well

One is the milk man
One is the yam man*
But those of all I don’t trust the woodman at all

When I told my wife
“Stop deal with dem”
Ear carefully
what she told me, my friend:

She said “the milk man and the yah man, I can berid them!
But I will meet the woodman at the gate and take the wood pon  him”

I was so mad, In fact this could be sad
I said “I want to know what this is all about”
She said “you don’t understand,
who feels it knows it
It not so easy to forget such a good good woodman”

It is my jealousy
Or my curiosity!
But I make her swear
Never to see them again

Then I saw her cry
I say “what is the matter, dear?”
she said “I’m trying to forget such a good good woodman!”

*como eu mesmo transcrevi o que rola na musica, faço a menor idéia do que pode ser um “Yam man”. Botei aí o que ouvi.  De qualquer forma o que gerou polêmica foi o “man” mesmo :)

O trecho abaixo vem de um documentario filmado pela BBC na Jamaica, no famoso estudio do Lee “Scratch” Perry, o Black Ark. Como essa musica não se encontra em lugar algum, tudo indica que ela tenha sido composta para o documentario.  De qualquer maneira, dá para aproveitar os arranjos de voz de Junior Murvin com os Heptones.
